Latest bashing by western media on how badly Russia is managing its Covid-19 situation, how horrible are the medical facilities are, and how stressed are the medical practitioners etc… seems to be the story to catch the attention by CNN and the likes in USA and western media.
High time the vested western media starts putting the real Russia instead of going on with the stereotypical narratives. Cold war is over long time back folks!
I’ve been visiting Russia on and off from past 5 years. Have traveled extensively from the west point Moscow to the extreme east point off the island of Sakhalinsk. Lived in hotels, with friends, high end and budget accomodations.
It’s a country of highly disciplined and rule abiding citizens, saying thank you and you are welcome after every gesture is common. People while reserved to strangers talk at great length when in company of knowns.
The whole world is fighting the dreadful pandemic and Russia is no different to that, what’s amazing here is the overall spirit amongst the folks. Life is pretty much back to normal. The whole country is open in full. With respect to hospitals, they are very much in order and in control. I happen to visit few hispitals in Moscow and Primorsky Krai region and haven’t seen even one instance when someone was deprived of medical facilities or was not attended to. The medical facilities by the way all free for citizens with an option of going for private treatment. Case in point, anyone calling the ambulance will be attended to and in no time.
People are self consious and its a common site to see one wearing masks at high risk places like taxis, malls, lifts, crowded places etc. The degree is caution shows responsibility and accountability each Russian is taking.
It is no surprise that there mortality rate is amongst the lowest in the world and they are amongst the first to have opened the country for most of the activities. Businesses have come back to normal and overall one can see an upbeat mood across the vast contours of the expanse of 11 time zones.
Kudos to every Russian! You might not be the best advertisers / marketers but you for sure are the most welcoming of folks!
